features of iPhone 3GS

Apple has introduced iPhone 3GS in India market. India market is one of highest growing markets for high-end mobile phones i.e. smart phones and it is going to be largest market mobile phone and mobile services. so I read about iPhone 3GS and found that it is much more improved version of iPhone 3G.

Internet thethering:

The great thing about this phone is it allows internet tethering, it means you can use your iPhone 3g connection to access internet on your laptop too so you can access internet connection anywhere, anytime on your laptop. In old iPhone to do this you have to jailbreak your phone and have to download some 3rd party application which aids to do internet thethering.

The Fastest iPhone Ever:
The first thing you’ll notice about iPhone 3GS is how quickly you can launch applications. Web pages render in a fraction of the time, and you can view email attachments faster. Improved performance and updated 3D graphics deliver an incredible gaming experience, too. In fact, everything you do on iPhone 3GS is up to 2x faster and more responsive than iPhone 3G.

Video
Now you can shoot video, edit it, and share it — all on your iPhone 3GS. Shoot high-quality VGA video in portrait or landscape. Trim your footage by adjusting start and end points. Then share your video in an email, post it to your MobileMe gallery, publish it on YouTube, or sync it back to your Mac or PC using iTunes.

Voice Control
Voice Control recognizes the names in your Contacts and knows the music on your iPod. So if you want to place a call or play a song, all you have to do is ask.

Compass
With a built-in digital compass, iPhone 3GS can point the way. Use the new Compass app, or watch as it automatically reorients maps to match the direction you’re facing

How to disable Auto-correction feature in iPhone

Hi readers,
when we type some text to send SMS to someone, the Auto-Correction feature of iPhone will change some of writtent text (it replaces some word using dictionary), this is especilly more applicable in situation when you write text in your regional language(if english you second language) or nettie language. By default this feature is ON. so we have to set this feature to OFF.
To do this you have to perform following steps:
Main Menu -> Setting -> General -> Keyboard -> Auto-Correction -> set setting to OFF

Transfer music from Computer to your iPhone

If you have iPhone, then of course you might want to use it as portable music player (like iPod). iPhone works great as portable music player. I think iPhone is a good substitute while you are commuting short distance or when you have some leisure time to kill in pleasurable way.

Let's say you want to transfer some classic old songs sung by some great singer like Kishor, Lata, Rafi,... etc from your computer to iPhone. Here I have broke entire process of transferring music from your computer to iPhone in small steps.

Things you will need for this:
- iPhone
- Computer with iTunes installed
- Some great audio songs which you want to transfer to iPhone.

Step 1: If all songs you might want to transfer are in one folder then you can skip this step. Else, create new folder on your computer and copy in this folder all those songs which you want to transfer.
Step 2: Connect your iPhone using USB power/data cable and your computer will open iTunes app for you. (the great thing about USB power cable is, it will recharge battery of iPhone while you are moving data from here and there, that's why I call it USB power/data cable.)
Step 3: Now, create a new playlist File->New Playlist. Rename it. e.g. classic old songs
Step 4: select File->Add File to Library and add songs from folder you created.
Step 5: Now, go to (in Left pane) Playlist->Recently Added. Select all songs which you added. right click and select play list you created to add these songs.
Step 6: Now, go to File-> Sync “your iPhone name”, iPhone will be in sync with iTunes. Thank to folder you have created in your computer and delete it because it has served it's purpuse. of course don't delete it, if you want to transfer same songs in other iPhone.
Step 7: You are done. Now relax and enjoy listening songs in your leisure time.

Hello World!!

Hello World,
This blog is targeted to help iPhone users. Anything and everything in this blog will be related to iPhone, that is the promise.

Let me tell you something about iPhone.
(From Wikipedia) - "The iPhone is a line of Internet- and multimedia-enabled smarphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc
. It functions as a camera phone (also including text messaging and visual voicemail), a portable media player (equivalent to a video iPod), and an Internet client (with e-mail, web browsing, and wi-fi connectivity). The user interface is built around the device's multi touch screen, including a virtual keyboard in lieu of a physical keyboard. Third-party applications are available from the App Store, which launched in mid-2008 and now has well over 100,000 "apps" approved by Apple, with functionalities ranging from games to reference to productivity."
It's been launched in 2007 and by now has become household name.

iPhone is a great tool, it's a perfect blend of personal mobile and business mobile. We can do various things with this amazing tool. Many people debate that ths is costly phone. Of course this is costly phone compared to other phone. but is it overvalued??? well, it depends on perception. Ben Graham (father of value investing) once said - "price is what you pay. value is what you get". if we use this tool optimally and unlock value (which we should do very every other tool also), I'm sure we can get more value than price we paid. I always try to unlock the value out of iPhone by using it in variuos ways. I always try to keep log for things I do with this tool so that log can useful for reference to help other people so I don't have to reinvent the wheel everytime we face problem. This blog is an internet version of that log.

There are lots of web sites, blogs available on internet which provides useful information on iPhone. This blog is just an attempt and brainchild of one iPhone user to add one more channel through which useful information on iPhone can flow along with those thousands of channels available on internet. I have created this blog with intension to help many existing iPhone users and to-be iPhone users.

Hope this blog helps iPhone users with it's useful information.
Let's ride the wave called iPhone and churn out maximum out of it.
